Through the survey I conducted on Linked In, I found out that sports marketing is an ever-changing industry. Social media is the new trend, and it is allowing brands and teams to have two-way discussions with a lot of people at once. It makes marketing easier, and provides a greater impact for what we do.
Some important skills to gain are business, media, marketing, speech, and sales.
Some negative aspects are: the industry is becoming crowded so the job market is hard to break into; there is a big time commitment; you may have to relocate to new geographic locations; slow to gain acceptance; teams are mostly family-run, which means they look out for their families, so it is not a kind industry for those feint of heart.
Let me know if you agree or disagree with any of the results. I hope they are helpful!
